ID Interactive Receives the Red Herring 100 Europe Award for Technology & Innovation
ID Interactive, the company that developed and markets UrTone, the custom ring-tone technology, announced today that Red Herring magazine has named the company a Red Herring 100 Europe 2007 winner and lists it as one of the top privately-held technology companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
“UrTone is tipped to be the iTunes of the ringtone world and bigger than Jamster in 2 years. We are honored to receive this prestigious award that further validates the company’s innovation and efforts in cutting edge direct to consumer ringtone technology”, said Bobby Israeli, Vice President Sales & Marketing at ID Interactive.
“UrTone is unique in that customers can buy any part of a song they like, not just a pre-determined clip. The global deals we have with Warner Music and Universal Music are a clear sign that we are leading the way globally in ringtone innovation with this technology. Major artists are equally as excited as the record companies about our UrTone technology and are eager to get on board and offer this unique experience to their fans. UrTone will soon be the standard way to purchase ringtones and ring back tones with customers deciding exactly what part of the track they want.”
Red Herring’s lists of top private companies are an important part of the company’s tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Companies like Google (NASDAQ: GOOG – news), eBay and Skype were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors, and touted as leaders that would change the way we live and work.
Red Herring’s editorial staff rigorously evaluated entrepreneurial companies in a careful analysis of financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and innovation.
